Now we're talking bread

and dough!!! I had two of these batches :)

And together they gave me 8 loafs! No, you're not counting wrong, I gave one away :)

Here's the recipe:
Okay, here's the recipe: (it came from someone else)
9cups of luke warm water
add 1 cup of sugar
sprinkle with 7 tablespoons of yeast. it can be quick yeast or trditional doesn't matter.
let sit for 10 minutes

add 3 tablespoons of Salt
2 cup of oil
Add flour, this can be a mixture, I use 1/4 white and 3/4 whole wheat. You may use sunflower seeds, ground flax seeds, and bran.

Mix by hand and keep adding flour till it no longer sticks to your hands.

Okay here is the trick, set your alarm for ten minutes and knead. Set aside in a large bowl, and wipe the top of the dough with a drop or two of canola oil.

Let rise until double in size, usually 1 hour, just depends on the weather and warmth. I let it rise in the oven with just the light on.

Punch down, let sit for ten minutes (I didn't do that) and shape into about 8 loaves.
Let rise for 30 minutes and pop half in the oven, bake 30 minutes and on to the last half. (I baked it on 350F/180C for the first 5 minutes and on 320F/150C for another 25/30 minutes)
Enjoy.

Bread coming out of my ears

We (read I) made bread today, loafs, more loafs, and buns, and more buns, and bagels, and mini loafs. We had fun!!
I got the recipe of someone else, but basically its 5 times my normal recipe.

My recipe reads:
500 grams of flour
380 water
2 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons sugar
80 ml of oil

This was times 5, the Canadian loafpans are way smaller then the Dutch ones, so, instead of 5 loafs, I had way more.

First we pored the water on top of the sugar and added the yeast

That gave some horrible looking water

Then we kneaded and kneaded and kneaded, for 10 whole minutes.

We left these two to rise for an hour and ended up with double the dough

We made some bagels by rolling dough into little balls, poked a hole in the middle, left them to rise for 30 minutes and then boiled them in boiling hot water. 1 Minute on one side, 20 seconds on the other. After that I transfered them onto a greased cookie sheet and baked them in the oven for 20-30 minutes on 400F/180'C

Here are the buns, more buns and mini loafs, and OFCOURSE I forgot to take photo's of the 7 normal, but smaller than I'm used to, loafs. Sorry!!

And here are the photo's to the bagels and loafs :o)
